Vienna~The combination of Ancient and Modern (CRIME RATE)

Sunday, September 12, 2010

When we are giving a chance to choose a city to live in, the first thing we must concern is the CRIME RATE and the SECURITY. Crime rate is the ratio of crimes in an area to the population of that area. Low crime rate means it is safer to live in. Crime rate is influenced by many factor. For examples, the performance of the law enforcement officer and economic.
Surely, we prefer a city which is lower crime rate. Can you imagine a pistol pointed at you when you just step out of your house? Would you prefer your house being broken in everyday? It's terrible to live in a high crime rate city because our properties as well as our lives are not guaranteed.

This link shows the data and the descriptions about Vienna's crime ratee. From there, you can see that the crime rate in Vienna is much more lower than other cities in Europe and America. Hence, it is safe to live in and worry not about your properties.
Besides that, we feel safe when we live in Vienna, due to their superb law enforcement bodies/police. Below are the police system in Vienna.

The Directorate General for Public security.

The Directorate General for Public Security is part of the Federal Ministry of the Interior. The Directorate is divided into sections as follows:

A: Federal Police
B: Supreme Command of the Gendarmerie
C: State Security
D: Criminal Investigations - Interpol.

The Federal Police
The Austrian Federal Security Guard developed from the civilian security force introduced in the years following the 1848 revolution to replace the previous military police force

Criminal Investigation Department
Responsible for obtaining information, investigating crimes, shadowing suspects and tracing wanted persons.

The Federal Gendarmerie
Organized on a military basis, the Gendarmerie is an armed, uniformed force under the command of the Directorate General for Public Security.
There are eight provincial Gendarmerie commands (one for each Land except Vienna).

Municipal Police Forces
Some Austrian municipalities still maintain their own police forces to provide local security services. Austrian constitutional law stipulates that provinces or municipalities may not set up any other security forces in areas policed by a federal police authority, with attached federal security guard units.

Are you feel surprise by the very complete police system in Vienna? Vienna, enlight your ideal city today!!
